What Should You Expect at Our Church Services?

Attending a new church service can be intimidating for some. We want to help by letting you know somethings you can expect when you come to Double Branch Church.
  • Our parking lot and main entrance is located in the back of the building. As you come into the main doors you will walk into a large foyer area. On a large round table will be bulletins for Sunday mornings and other resources.

  • Sunday School  Our Sunday School begins at 10:00 am and has classes for all ages, including adults. It’s a good opportunity to learn more about God’s Word and fellowship with others in a small setting. Though we have classes for all ages, parents are always welcome to have their children with them when in their adult classes.

Sunday Morning Our Sunday morning service begins at 11:00 am and is the main meeting of the church. The reading of Scripture, prayer, singing to the Lord and to one another, and preaching and teaching from God’s Word, are what you can expect.

Sunday Night  Sunday night service begins at 5:30 pm. We have times of prayer, different emphases, and messages from God’s Word.

Wednesday Night  Wednesday night Bible Study begins at 6:30 pm. Adults and teenagers meet in the auditorium and children have class. A nursery is provided. Questions and comments are welcomed.

Women’s Study  Women’s Study meets for Bible Study, fellowship, prayer, and more. Please contact us for information on our next meeting.

Men’s Group Study  Men’s Group normally meets on Saturdays for study. Please contact us for information about our next meeting.

Sunday Night Fellowships  Normally after the second to last Sunday evening service of the month we have a finger foods fellowship in the social hall. All are invited to stay and fellowship. This is a great opportunity to speak about the things of the Lord and get to know each other better.

  • Double Branch loves children! Though parents are supposed to be the main teachers of God’s Word to their children, the church is also to help them carry this out. One way we do this is by having classes for children. Classes are on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am in our Sunday School, and 6:30 pm on Wednesday nights. We also have times especially for youth when we meet for games and fellowship.

Though children are welcome to remain in services with their parents, a nursery can be available. When you bring your child to nursery you may fill out an information sheet including allergies your child may have, who may pick up your child from nursery, and a contact number that we can text or call you at while you’re in service if a need arises.

We love children and want to minister to them. However, we do not have children’s church on Sunday mornings. Though our church offers separate classes for children throughout the week, the church also needs to have times where the church tries to meet together as a whole. It is similar to an individual family. It can be good for husband and wife to spend time together away from their children, but they certainly need to spend time as a whole family, too. Likewise, local churches need times where the whole church can meet together. For more information on why we do not have children’s church on Sunday morning please follow this link. With that said, we want to be accommodating and to assist you if you have a need. Parents and guardians can face difficult challenges and need help, as all of us do at times. If you would like child care for children that are older than nursery age please ask us.

  • We want to be a help to those with special needs and their families while attending our services. Please let us know the need and how we can help.

  • Some will have on coats and ties, and others will have on blue jeans. Though modesty is important, we shouldn’t overly think about clothing. Come and worship with us.

  • The Bible is God’s Word  God has spoken to us through His Word. His Word is as needed today as ever. His Word is all truth, without any error.

The Greatness of God  God alone is glorious, and His majesty is more than mortal man can take. The weightiness of God and His greatness should be realities that not only the Christian believes and speaks of, but that is felt. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit deserve our worship, adoration, and praise.

The Sinfulness of Man  The Bible declares that lost man is both sinful and not good, and in need of the grace of God. Lost man proves his wickedness by refusing to believe, worship, and obey the teachings of God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Only God’s grace and the power of the Holy Spirit can save a person.

The Gift of Salvation Though man has sinned against God, God so loved the world that He sent Jesus to die for our sins, even when we were His enemies, so we could be brought back to God. Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God offers the gift of salvation to all who repent (turn from their sins) and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Righteousness is given to us through faith.

Holiness of Life  Though salvation is a free gift, that does not mean we can live in sin and still have peace with God. Christians must pursue holy lives or they will not see God (Hebrews 12:14). God has given us everything we need to live godly in this wicked world.

Assurance of Salvation  The Bible teaches that we can know we are saved. We should not first look at our past life for assurance, but at what we believe and how we are living now.

The Church Christians are to hold up the local church above all other human institutions. The church is where Christians grow more like Jesus, fellowship with each other, use their spiritual gifts, and are held accountable.

Missions  Christians should be evangelizing in their everyday life, but we must also seek to spread the gospel beyond our area. Though not every Christian has the opportunity or calling to be a missionary to a different area, the church is to help those who do by supporting missionaries financially and by prayer.

The Family The family is so important to God. He gives clear directions in His Word to fathers, mothers, and children. God wants us to have strong families that follow His teachings.
