Evangelism: Nine Reasons we Must Share the Gospel
It is the duty and privilege of every Christian to tell others about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Though there are more, there are at least 9 reasons we must share our faith. First, God commands us to. This would be all we needed if it was the only reason. God has commanded not just the apostles, or preachers, or pastors to tell others about the gospel, but He has told all Christians to. Second, what Jesus Christ has done must be spoken of. The gospel is the greatest news ever, and Jesus’ death and resurrection are worthy to be spoken of and told to others who have not heard and who have heard already. Third, people cannot be saved without the gospel. No one will be saved without the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are all sinners and in desperate need of salvation. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the only message that can tell us how to be saved. Fourth, people are going to hell. Hell is a terrible reality, and yet it is just. However, God has made a way for every person to be saved. We must share the gospel with people. Fifth, most men are going to hell. It appears the reality the Bible tells of is that most people are going to hell. Since this is true, we must share the glorious gospel with others to see others come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Sixth, this is one purpose of the church. The church has been called to do a number of things, but one of these great things is to evangelize the world. Seventh, we must be doers of the word. God has said that one purpose of pastors and teachers is to build up Christians for the work of ministry. Each Christian has a ministry and each Christian must tell others about the gospel. Eighth, joy. We will have joy when we are faithful witnesses of Jesus Christ. Ninth, love. We love God and want to make His gospel known. We also love people and want them to be saved.
