What is the gospel? A message that promises health? A message that helps us to only live a better life? A message that we are to love one another? The gospel is none of these. The gospel message is specifically a message about Jesus Christ and what He has done to save us. The word gospel means “good news.” The greatest news that has ever been spoken is the Christian gospel. The coming of Jesus Christ, the long awaited Messiah and King, is good news. The great truth of the kingdom of God is good news. But it is a kingdom we must enter in to personally and a Savior we must trust in personally. We have sinned grievously against God and do not have a relationship with Him. And yet God loved us so much that He sent His Son to die for us and for our sins. We should have died and been judged of God, but Jesus died in our place and took the judgment we deserved. His Son rose from the dead showing that everything He said was true, that God had accepted His sacrifice, and He is now alive forever more and will never die again. If we will turn from our sins and turn to God in faith toward His Son, we can be brought in to a relationship with Him. Have you ever personally put your faith in the Lord Jesus for salvation?
