Jesus’ First Sign (John 2:1-11)

DoubleBranchFWBChurch Gospel of John, John, New Testament, Topic faith, Jesus' glory, joy, Miracles, salvation

Jesus Christ’s first sign was accomplished at a wedding in Cana of Galilee. By faith the disciples saw His glory and believed in Him. Many people today want to shy away from the miracles of Christ and yet we see that it is these miracles that help people see His glory and be saved. If we want to see others come to believe in Jesus we need to hold true to the super natural events that are in the Bible. We, as the disciples did, must see the glory of Christ if we are to be saved. Is Christ worth more to you than anything in life? Have you seen His glory? We are prone to extremes. Some try to live a life filled with entertainment while others are legalistic and have little or no joy. Jesus’ presence at a wedding, as J.C. Ryle spoke of, shows that Christians should at times enjoy the good things of life and other people.
